IE Preps Magazine POWER 20 High School Football Ranking (Week 1)

1. Centennial (1-0) It was a wild few weeks for the Huskies. The good news, a big win 56-49 to start the season over Chandler (Arizona football powerhouse) that saw stars emerge like running back Miles Reed , quarterback Tanner McKee, and wide receivers Justin Fisher and Manuel Allen proved that are even better than advertised. The bad news, super transfer wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey went back to Bishop Gorman after CIF was going to have him sit out a few games for Centennial. Then later 4 Upland transfers were informed by CIF that they would not be playing the entire season.   

2. Redlands East Valley  REV plays their first game of the season against Etiwanda, this might get ugly.

3. Vista Murrieta (1-0)  Coach Olson won his first game as head coach versus Madison High winning 20-9. It was not a pretty win, but the Broncos got the job done. 

4. Murrieta Valley (1-0) Coach Wilson’s NightHawks can score with the best of them, beating Santiago 55-31. They may have the most devastating passing offense in the IE.

5.Rancho Cucamonga (1-0) Rancho Cucamonga puts in “work” in a big win, 36-7 over Chaparral. Looks like that offense is going to be just fine!

6.Upland (0-1) Upland starts the season off with a loss 41-22, to a good Mountain Pointe teamRancho Cucamonga.

7. Yucaipa (0-0) The Thunderbirds start the season against a tough Grand Terrace team. High expectations abound for Coach Price’s team this season.

8.  Citrus Hill (1-0) Coach Zomalt’s team starts the season off with a shut out win over Barstow 31-0.

9.  Rancho Verde (0-1) The Mustangs start the season with a loss versus Redondo Union 28-22.

10. Heritage (1-0) The Patriots dominate Great Oak 21-0 to open the season.

11. Norco (1-0) Norco beats one the best team in Arizona, Desert Ridge, 14-10. 

12. Oak Hills (1-0) Artie Allen gets his first win as head coach. The Bulldogs shake off the pre season dust and beat a solid Pomona team 40-7.

13. Paloma Valley (1-0) The Wildcats do bad things to Rancho Buena Vista, beating them 55-3. QB Chance Nolan threw for 5 touchdowns!

14. Colony (1-0) The Titans dismantle West Covina in a big statement game 49-14.

15. Notre Dame (1-0) The Titans make quick work of Xavier Prep 37-2.

16. Cajon (1-0) The Cowboys kick up some dust in a strong win over Roosevelt 42-27, to start the season.

17. Chino Hills (1-0) Coach Stevens gets his first win, 19-7, as  head coach of Chino Hills and key win over rival Ayala. 

18. Summit (1-0) Summit pulls out the “Battle of the 15” beating Etiwanda 22-14.

19. Damien (1-0) Solid win versus a talented Chino team, 21-6.

20. Chino (0-1) The Cowboys start the season off with a loss to Damien 21-6.
