1. Centennial – This fantasy football offense is the best, hands down! (4-2)

2. Chino Hills – Entered the Baseline and kicked down the door against Rancho Cucamonga in a blowout. (5-1)

3. Upland –  The Scots are building momentum. (4-2)

4. Redlands East Valley – Bruich has his team looking good! (5-1)

5.  Rancho Verde – The Mighty Mustangs roll! (6-1)

6.  Oak Hills – This team is GOOD… no we mean REALLY GOOD!(4-2)

7. Citrus Hill – Another week, another win… “The Hill” (6-1)

8. Heritage –   All Heritage wants is some respect, its time to give props where they are due (7-0)

9. Rancho Cucamonga – A tough loss to Chino Hills this week. (3-3)

10. Santiago –  Big win this week against Corona for the Sharks. (5-2)

11. Vista Murrieta –  The Broncos are starting to show and prove, big win this week. (4-2)

12. Carter – The Lions keep winning and their roar is getting louder. (5-1)

13. Norco – A team that has played a brutal pre-season who is now ready for league play. (2-4)

14. San Gorgonio – One of the best teams in the I.E., who keep on winning. (5-1)

15. Riverside Poly – Undefeated and looking good! We see you Riverside Poly (6-0)

16. Colony The Titans may not lose for the rest of the season. (4-2)

17.  Etiwanda – Strong win this week for the Eagles. (3-2-1)

18. Pomona – The Red Devils put up 74 points of La Puente… Yikes (3-4)

19. Great Oak–  We are not sure who Great Oak is, a big loss this week versus Vista Murrieta(4-2)

20. Ayala–  It’s time to start talking about the Bulldogs! Good talent and good coaching make this program strong. (5-1)

IE Preps Magazine Visits China

Last week IE Preps Magazine had the opportunity to visit China to learn more about high schools on an international level. Tiajin Foreign Language High School (pictured above) in China had a an incredible cheer program, where their students start school at 7:30 am and end their academic school day at 5pm. All students who participate in extracurricular activities are expected to balance practice with an additional three hours of homework each night. On our hiatus from the U.S., we missed last week’s prep football ranking.

13. Carter – The Lions continue to hunt! Beating Yucaipa in a solid win. (3-1)

14. San Gorgonio – Lost to  a strong Oak Hill team  25-7. (4-1)

15. Colony – Put up a great fight against La Habra in a loss 55-48. (3-2)

1. Centennial – Still the #1 team, their offense is lethal. Worked a great Long Beach Poly team on a televised game. (2-2)

2. Rancho Cucamonga –  They play the best teams and are quietly hunting as Cougars do!(3-1)

3. Chino Hills – The Huskies had a BIG win this week against Bishop Amat. Coach Betchel is making his Mark in Chino Hills(3-1)

4. Upland – The “U” played tough this Friday, but faced tougher competition. (2-2)

5.  Redlands East Valley – REV took Rancho Verde on a ride this Friday. HUGE game and HUGE win . (2-1)

6.  Santiago – The Sharks keep rolling with the Barnett tour. (3-1)

7. Vista Murrieta – The Broncos look like they are starting to build chemistry. (2-1)

8. Norco –  This is a good Norco team, playing a very good preseason schedule. (1-2)

9. Rancho Verde – Rancho Verde ran into a tank called REV. The Mustangs should regroup and bounce back. (3-1)

10. San Gorgonio –  One of the best teams in the Inland Empire, with one of the best QB’s around. (4-0)

11. Colony – What? You didn’t know? Colony is for real! They proved it beating a very good Pomona team this Friday. (3-1)

12. Citrus Hill – The “Hill” beat Roosevelt and continue to look better and better each week. (3-1)

13. Heritage – This underrated program puts wins together with three key factors: Coaching, Talent, & Tradition. (4-0)

14. Etiwanda – Bye Week. (1-1-1)

15. Carter – The Lions destroyed Chaparral this Friday. If this team keeps playing like this, Carter could be a BIG PROBLEM. (2-1)

16. Great OakBye Week (2-1)

17.  Oak Hills–  This team is alot better than their record indicates. (2-2)

18. Pomona – The Red Devils fought until the end against a red hot Colony team. (2-2)

19. Riverside Poly– This team is special and has several quality wins. Could be headed on collision course with Rancho Verde. (3-0)

20. Chaparral– The Pumas will have to get it together quick, a much needed bye week and then Mission Viejo awaits… (1-3)

1. Centennial – A one point loss to Bishop Gorman was all we needed to see to have a new #1 team. (1-2)

2. Rancho Verde –  The statement win over Great Oak, 69-21 showed enough to move the Mustangs up!(3-0)

3. Upland – A 28-14 loss to Tesoro drops upland two spots. Expect “the U” to respond with a new focus this week.(2-1)

4. Rancho Cucamonga – Rancho Cucamonga has played a very strong preseason schedule and lost to a strong Bishop Amat team 46-17. (2-1)

5.  Chino Hills– Chino Hills moves up a few spots after working Roosevelt 52-26. (2-1)

6.  Santiago – The Sharks move up and take a bite out of Elsinore 56-30 (2-1)

7. Norco – Norco moves up beating a very sound Etiwanda team 31-28. (1-1)

8. Vista Murrieta –  The Broncos drop a few spots with a loss to Del Oro 22-15. (1-1)

9. Great Oak – Great Oak drops down after running into a Rancho Verde buzzsaw losing 69-21. (2-1)

10. Etiwanda –  Etiwanda stays in the top 10 after a 31-28 loss to Norco. (1-1-1)

11. Chaparral – After losing 24-0 to Oceanside, the Pumas slide down further and look to get the offense on track. (1-2)

12. Citrus Hill – The “Hill” is for real! Moving up a few spots after a 49-7 win over Arlington. (2-1)

13. San Gorgonio – One of the hottest teams in the I.E. keep rolling after a 42-17 win over Glendora. (3-0)

14. Heritage – The undefeated Patriots continue to move up after a 65-12 beat down of Coachella Valley. (3-0)

15. Redlands East Valley – Scheduling good teams have their rewards, REV stays put after losing to St. Bonaventure 21-10. (1-1)

16. ColonyColony is BACK! A huge 46-21 win over Carter, the Titans shoot into the top 20 ranking. (2-1)

17. Pomona–  A cancelled game brought alot of bad press to the program. The Red Devils will have to prove themselves this week. (2-0)

18. Oak Hill – An impressive 41-20 win over Los Osos, get Oak Hill into the top 20 ranking. (1-2)

19. Carter– A big loss to Colony 46-21, drop the Lions down. Key injuries may affect Carter the next few weeks. (1-1)

20. West Valley– A 21-0 shutout over Moreno Valley, put West Valley in the top 20. (3-0)

2. Centennial – A 52-49 win over Orange Lutheran gets Coach Logan and his team their first win of the season. (1-1)

3. Rancho CucamongaRancho showed great character in a thrilling 42-41 comeback win over a very good Norco team. (2-0)

4. Vista Murrieta – The Broncos beat Downey 14-13, in a win that may have cost them their starting QB. (1-0)

5.  Great Oak– GO stays undefeated beating King 27-21. (2-0)

6. Etiwanda – Etiwanda rolls over Colton 52-0 (1-0-1)

7. Rancho Verde – The Mustangs swallow Murrieta Mesa 59-16. (2-0)

8. Chino Hills“CHills” lose 45-21 to J Serra. The aggressive scheduling should pay off later as they enter the BASELINE. (1-1)

9. Chaparral – A shocking to 24-19 loss to Tesoro, creates questions about the Puma offense. (1-1)

10. Carter –  The Lions serve Rialto 57-0. (1-0)

11. Santiago – The Sharks lose to Santa Margarita 56-27. Aggressive scheduling is rewarded (1-1)

12. Norco – Norco is for real. A one point loss to Rancho Cucamonga is nothing to be ashamed of. (0-1)

13. Pomona – The Red Devils are RED HOT! Beating Don Lugo 58-17. (2-0)

14. San Gorgonio – San G. means business and make a big jump in the rankings! Thumping Kaiser 35-7. (2-0)

15. Redlands East Valley – Pitch a shutout against Summit 28-0 and make a big leap in the rankings. (1-0)

16. Citrus HillCoach Zomalt is one of the best play callers around. The Hill defeats Murrieta Valley 30-20 (1-1)

17. Heritage–  The Patriots destroy J.W. North 48-13. (2-0)

18. Jurupa Hills – A 14-7 loss to Moreno Valley stun the Spartans. (1-1)

19. Damien– Kick off their season with a win over Roosevelt 31-13. (1-0)

20. Cajon– Smashes Valley View 65-0. Making their debut on the Top 20 Ranking. (1-0)

1. Upland – Hilinski and the biggest O-line ever means BIG trouble.
2. Centennial – Coach Logan and his play book are always ready.
3. Chaparral – This is the year of the PUMA, now or never.
4. Vista Murrieta – The winning tradition continues with new faces.
5. Etiwanda – This is the year that the EAGLES “fly,” best LB’s in IE.
6. Rancho Cucamonga- The Cougars are READY.
7. Great Oak – It’s time to go to the next level, Fisher must dominate.
8. Chino Hills – Welcome to the Baseline. Trent Goens is the TRUTH.
9. Rancho Verde – Explosive offense.
10. Los Osos – Coach Price has this program headed towards the top.
11. Carter – Loaded with athletes.
12. Norco – Big boy football at its finest.
13. Santiago – Blake, “The Great Barnett,” has the Sharks ready to bite.
14. Jurupa Hills – CIF championship, check… Just the beginning.
15. Pomona – Red Devil speed everywhere, will making it HOT.
16. Citrus Valley – This year this program goes deep into playoffs.
17. Heritage – The Patriots must be respected.
18. Redlands East Valley – Wildcats always are among the best in the IE.
19. Kaiser – There brand of physical football is unmatched.
20. Summit – Last season’s finish brings out these angry birds.

The May Bosco Issue

IE Preps Magazine will release 2 BIG issues in May. The first issue will feature National Coach of the Year Jason Negro of St. John Bosco. Coach Negro talks about winning on and off the field, and opens up about the ingredients of success for his #1 ranked team.

 

CIF Southern Section Awards McGaha

John McGaha CIF SS Rookie Athletic F

 

John McGaha, Athletic Director at Garey High School in Pomona, was recently honored by the C.I.F. Southern Section. McGaha, a long time coach and teacher in Pomona Unified School District, has now taken on the job as an Athletic Director and his impact has quickly been recognized. His efforts in raising the bar of athletic and academic excellence at Garey High School has been tremendous in his two years as AD.
